Years in Kids Who Care: 10 years 1993-2003
Since leaving Kids Who Care: I graduated from the University of Texas with a BA in Theatre Dance and then moved back to Fort Worth accepting a position as Education Coordinator with Kids Who Care. I directed the (I believe) one and only Grapevine Camp Hope and Assistant Directed several productions throughout my year with KWC, in addition to running the School of Fun Arts and teaching amazingly gifted kiddos! I left KWC to attend graduate school at New York University. I graduated with a MA in Teaching Educational Theatre in Colleges and Communities. While in New York I interned and was hired as a teaching artist with The New Victory Theater on Broadway. At the end of my Masters I spent time teaching in London and Ireland before returning to Funkytown. I did a small stint teaching at Conroe High School (for a friend) before settling in at my current job at Dallas Theater Center.
Currently Doing: I have been at DTC for two years and counting, as their Project Discovery Manager, manager of our outreach programming. I thoroughly love my job and am finding new and wonderful opportunities through arts education. Personally I have been blessed with great family, my parents, sister and brothers are rockstars, and a strong family of friends!
