International
Kids Who Care believes international community is an important part of developing strong leaders and diverse artists.
In 1989 Kids Who Care created exchange opportunities for young artists by hosting 3 students from Reggio Emilia, Italy, through Fort Worth Sister Cities International. Since that time, exchange students from Italy, Indonesia, Albania, Germany, Spain, Israel, Finland, Scotland, Switzerland, and Latvia have participated in Kids Who Care.
Students are home-housed while in Fort Worth and participate in a schedule of activities that introduce them to Texas culture. Organized activities include sports, museums, theatre, shopping, culinary and family fun. Everything from a family soccer day on the lawn of the Kimbell Art Museum to a trip to Billy Bob’s for Texas line dancing makes the experience complete.
While participating in Kids Who Care, international students experience
- Musical Theatre education with artists in a professional venue
- An opportunity for English language immersion
- Leadership opportunities through KidPower Leadership
- Life-long international friendships
The Kids Who Care Resident Company has a rich history of international exchange with performances in Reggio Emilia, Italy, and Trier, Germany. The Resident Company welcomes international exchange students living in Fort Worth to participate in Kids Who Care.
